Introduction
These guidelines help ensure a safe, smooth, and respectful transportation experience for everyone using the SXM Taxi.
By using the platform, riders agree to follow these guidelines when requesting transportation services.
Booking Your Ride
Riders can request
transportation through the app by:
- Requesting a ride immediately
- Scheduling a ride in advance (30 minutes up to 1 day ahead)
- Booking airport pickups or drop-offs
- Connecting with drivers available nearby
Scheduling ahead is recommended during busy hours or events.
Tracking Your Driver
Once a ride is accepted, riders can:
- Track their driver in real time
- View driver and vehicle details
- Communicate through the in-app chat
This helps riders and drivers locate each other easily.
Airport Pickups
For pickups at Princess Juliana International Airport:
- Riders can schedule rides before arriving in Sint Maarten
- Drivers can be contacted through the in-app chat after landing
- Drivers often coordinate pickups through the airport pickup line
Scheduling airport rides ahead of time is recommended.
Payment & Authorization Holds
Payments are processed securely through the app.
When requesting a ride, your card may show a temporary pre-authorization hold. This is not a charge.
The payment is only captured once the ride is completed.
If a driver cannot be found, the pre-authorization will automatically be released by your bank according to their processing time.
Cancellation Policy
To respect drivers’ time:
A $10 cancellation fee may apply if a rider cancels after a driver has already accepted the ride and is on the way.
Wait Time
Riders should be ready at the pickup location when the driver arrives.
If the rider cannot be located or contacted, the driver may cancel the ride.
Rider Conduct
Riders are expected to:
- Treat drivers respectfully
- Be ready at the pickup location
- Follow basic safety guidelines during rides
Respectful behavior helps create a better experience for everyone.
Outside Arrangements
Rides arranged outside the SXM Taxi platform are not monitored or supported by SXM Taxi.
Only rides completed within the platform are recorded and supported by the system.
Support
If assistance is needed, riders should contact support through the app.
The system allows us to review ride data and assist when necessary.
